About Dr. Eric Carlin

A diverse musician, Dr. Eric Carlin is equally at home with a flat top or Fender Stratocaster as he is with a fine classical guitar. Eric picked up a guitar at the age of 13 and discovered a way to express himself. Based in Rochester, New York, Eric has over 20 years of teaching and performing experience. 

With a passion for Bach as well as the blues, Eric fuses his classical training with country, blues, and rock to create a unique sound. Discovering music as a coping mechanism for anxiety and depression, Eric is passionate about sharing his music with others in hopes that they too can find comfort. He is on faculty at Nazareth College and Mansfield University and offers private lessons to budding musicians and advanced musicians alike. 

Eric released his debut EP, Ghosts in 2019 and his sophomore album, Looking Up From Here in 2022. You can also hear him on Everybody Is a Broken Heart, an album released with his band, The Flood. You can find Eric singing and playing at favorite local music venues, writing songs for future recording projects, or jamming in his Grateful Dead tribute project, Eric Carlin’s Half-Dead.
